HARTFORD – Valley lawmakers gathered at the State Capitol on Monday to urge fellow lawmakers and Governor Ned Lamont to focus transportation investments on the Waterbury Rail Line.
“Updating the Waterbury Rail Line would create an economic boom throughout the Valley and result in more jobs for our state,” said Rep. Klarides-Ditria. “The time is now to invest in the Waterbury Rail Line and give our communities the opportunity to continue to grow and thrive.”
The Waterbury Rail Line Caucus is looking to see that the Waterbury Rail Line is at the top of the priority list by seeking considerable improvements to both rail including more rail cars and locomotives, additional trains during peak hours, and the creation of the Waterbury Rail Line Improvement Plan to identify and prioritize key projects to improve WRL operational efficiency and usage.
