Rep. Klarides-Ditria: State Awards $1 Million STEAP Grant to Beacon Falls
State Representative Nicole Klarides-Ditria (R-105) today announced that the State has awarded a Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) grant to the 105th district town of Beacon Falls for the rehabilitation of several roadways.
Beacon Falls is slated to receive $1 Million in state funding for the rehabilitation of Maple, Century, and Division Road and for other “complete Streets” improvements. The town will provide a $927,150 match.
“I appreciate the governor and the Bond Commission for recognizing the need and providing the resources to properly rehabilitate these local roadways and make them safer for both drivers and pedestrians,” Rep. Klarides-Ditria said. “Infrastructure investments like these are a boost for the entire town.”
By law, STEAP grants can only be used for capital projects, such as new construction or expansion, renovation or replacement for an existing facility or facilities. The grants are coordinated by the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management.
The grants are part of a larger $30 million package of state grants for 46 small towns announced by Governor Lamont this week. The grants are provided through the Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP), a state program managed by the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) that delivers grants to small towns for economic development, community conservation, and quality-of-life capital projects.
