As the Ranking Member of the Public Health Committee, I am very concerned with the issue of illegal drug use and its effects on our state. I also understand how “safe” injection sites are able to utilize supervision and opioid reversal medications to limit the deadly results of using illegal and potentially tainted substances. One of my many concerns is that these state-sponsored locations provide a place for people to use, when we should be working toward getting people into rehabilitation programs.
