Rep. Klarides-Ditria Named Ranking Member of Public Health Committee, Caucus Whip

Will also serve on Finance, Revenue and Bonding, and Regulations Review Committees
The Connecticut House Republican Caucus announced that State Representative Nicole Klarides-Ditria (R-105) will serve as Ranking Member of the legislature’s Public Health Committee for the 2023-2024 legislative session that begins on January 4, 2023. Ranking Members serve as a liaison to caucus members regarding the important issues from each individual committee.
House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora also announced legislative leadership and committee assignments, returning Rep. Klarides-Ditria to her leadership role as a Caucus Whip, an instrumental position that assists with caucus proposals and as a mentor for new members. Rep. Klarides-Ditria will also serve on the Finance, Revenue and Bonding, and Regulations Review Committees for the legislative session.
“I want to thank Representative Candelora for putting his trust in me to lead our caucus on the important issues facing the Public Health Committee and look forward to working together with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to tackle those challenges, including the legacy of the pandemic, our continued fight against the opioid crisis and much more,” Rep. Klarides-Ditria said.
“Rep. Klarides-Ditria is the ideal choice to take the lead on Public Health and this role will allow her to leverage her years of work with young adults and as a certified athletic trainer to provide the best outcomes for all Connecticut residents,” House Republican Leader Vin Candelora said.
According to the General Assembly website, the Public Health Committee has cognizance over “all programs and matters relating to the Department of Public Health (DPH); the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the Department of Developmental Services; the Office of Health Care Access; and all other matters relating to health, including emergency medical services, licensing boards within DPH, nursing homes, pure food and drugs, and controlled substances, including the treatment of substance abuse.”
