State Representative Nicole Klarides-Ditria (R-105) celebrated Read Across America Day by reading Elephant and Piggie, We Are in a Book!, and Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late!, by Mo Williams to both Mrs. Freddino’s and Mrs. McAuliffe 2nd grade classes at Bungay Elementary School on Thursday, March 2nd.
Rep. Klarides-Ditria also took time to explain how our state legislature works, her role as a state representative, and how decisions made in Hartford affect Connecticut residents, including the students.
Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2nd with the goal of sharing the joy of reading and promote early childhood literacy with elementary schoolers.
