On Tuesday, January 24, the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) will hold a virtual Information Session to highlight the new Innovative Energy Solutions (IES) Program and to provide information for prospective participants.

The Information Session will provide an overview of the IES Program and the upcoming opportunity to submit proposals into the solicitation. There will also be an opportunity for questions with PURA staff, the program administrator, the electric distribution companies, the Connecticut Green Bank, and Connecticut Innovations.

Established in March 2022, the new state program is a regulatory sandbox designed to identify, pilot, and scale innovative ideas that enable a decarbonized, affordable, and equitable electric grid for Connecticut. Each program cycle will provide up to $25 million in funding, with a maximum project award of $5 million.

Both Connecticut-based and out-of-state entrepreneurs offering innovative electric grid products, services, and programs are invited to submit concept proposals through a new online portal, which will be available starting Friday, January 20.
