    Connecticut Summer at the Museum – Free Admission for Kids

    Summer is here and there are lots of exciting things to do.  If you have children who love museums, aquariums, science and nature you’ll be happy to know that, this summer, admission to dozens of CT museums is FREE for kids!

    From July 1 to September 6, Connecticut children age 18 and under plus one accompanying adult can visit participating museums free of charge through the Connecticut Summer at the Museum program.

    Please make sure you check each museum for online advance ticketing and reservations, as they may be required.

    CT’s Old Statehouse is open for the summer!

    The free Connecticut Summer at the Museum program also includes admission to Connecticut’s Old State House, which is now open regular hours from 12-5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and 12-8 p.m. on Thursdays. Regular Prices: $8 for adults; $4 for seniors, children 6-17, AAA Members. Always FREE for Active Duty Military & Veterans, children under 6, and with Capital Community College ID

    To celebrate their reopening, they have a special day of events and activities planned for Tuesday, July 6, that includes a farmers market, free tours, and a live concert from State Troubadour Nekita Waller at noon. To RSVP for the performance, please click here.

    The farmers market has been up and running on Tuesdays and Fridays (10 – 2 PM) since June 15 and free Friday noontime concerts are already underway. You can enjoy fresh produce and other great goods from now through October.

    News for Veterans and their Families

    Walmart recently launched the “Find a Future” site, designed specifically to help United States military veterans and their spouses achieve their career goals by providing information and help with anything from finding career opportunities to growing their own business.

    The platform is free and registration is now open. Once on the site, registrants can audit their current skills and experience, and connect to the right partners to help them build a roadmap for their future careers.
