Kennedy, State Lawmakers Host Fire Service Day at the State Capitol

HARTFORD- In celebration of Fire Service Day at the State Capitol, State Rep. Kathy Kennedy (R-Milford) met with area firefighters and discussed pending state legislation important to their profession as firefighters.

“I would like to send a huge thank you to all firefighters and emergency response personnel in Connecticut who play such a critical role in keeping our community safe,” said Rep. Kennedy who was the first civilian female Fire Marshal in the State of Connecticut.

Nighttime Bridge Maintenance, I-95 Northbound and Southbound in Milford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on I-95 NB & SB in Milford, beginning Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

The project consists of structural steel repairs to the I-95 NB & SB Bridge #00144 (West River St. underpass) in Milford. This project is scheduled to occur the evening of Tuesday, May 28, 2019 to the morning of Friday, May 31, 2019.

Kennedy Hails Passage of Ban on Single-Use Styrofoam

HARTFORD- State Rep. Kathy Kennedy (R-119) supported a bipartisan proposal that prohibits a restaurant or caterer from providing or distributing to consumers single use containers made of expanded polystyrene beginning July 1, 2021.

“This bill seeks to address environmental and health concerns by prohibiting the use of polystyrene containers by restaurants and other food establishments, said Rep. Kennedy, who represents the some of the Milford coast. Right now polystyrene, commonly known as Styrofoam, has a negative impact on the environment and the Long Island Sound coastline.”
