Rep. Kennedy (R-119) Attends Swearing in and Receives Committee Assignments for the 2023 Legislative Session

(HARTFORD) — On January 4th, State Representative Kathy Kennedy (R-119) was officially sworn in at the opening-day ceremonies of the 2023 Legislative Session. Additionally, each member of the General Assembly also received their legislative committee assignments and ranking member appointments.
Rep. Kennedy was proud to be appointed Ranking Member on the Transportation Committee and will also be serving on the Appropriations Committee, Education Committee, and Public Health Committee. The role of a Ranking Member is to serve as the leader of the minority party in committee meetings and collaborate with Committee Leadership in proposing bills and legislation.
“I am so happy to see so many new and familiar faces in-person at for the first day of session,” said Rep. Kennedy. “My goals for this term include taking on the challenges of being Ranking Member of the Transportation Committee and fostering relationships with the new members on both sides of the aisle. With this, I look forward to being an example representative for the hardworking residents and families of Milford and Orange, while emphasizing policy that provides the long-term infrastructure and transportation solutions we deserve.”
