MILFORD- This week, State Reps. Kathy Kennedy (R-119), Charles Ferraro (R-117) along with the rest of the Milford Legislative Delegation co-signed a letter to the Connecticut Siting Council (CSC) asking the CSC to reject ARX Wireless Infrastructure’s (ARX) application for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need for the construction, maintenance and operation of a telecommunications facility located at 1061-1063 Boston Post Road in Milford.

In the letter the lawmakers state:

‘Milford does not object to the installation of the ARX’s cell tower simply because it is a cell tower. The City’s objection is rooted in ARX’s proposed location for its tower and ARX’s failure to investigate and consider multiple alternative locations suggested by the City that would be more suitable. Instead, ARX elected to ignore the City’s suggestions and proceed with the application process in defiance of valid concerns and problems with its application.”

Rep. Kennedy who represents the neighbors of the proposed 1061-1063 Boston Post Road site said she believes that it would be in ARX, the City of Milford and the impacted residents’ best interests if ARX and the City could agree upon a more suitable location based upon the City’s concerns previously communicated to ARX why the proposed location is objectionable.

Rep. Kennedy said, “The installation of ARX’s proposed cell tower in the proposed location would impact over 100 homeowners -my constituents – who reside in close-proximity of the project. The residents feel that the cell tower would be a be a blight on their neighborhood and could serve to adversely affect area property values.”

Milford State Rep. Ferraro, who is the Ranking House Member of the legislature’s Energy and Technology committee which has purview over the Connecticut Siting Council, said, ” I, along with the Milford Legislative Delegation respectfully request that the Siting Council refer ARX to sit down with the City of Milford and agree on a more appropriate location.”

Why I Voted “NO” on the State Budget

Last night, I stood against the State Budget proposal that overspends money we don’t have, raises taxes on businesses and consumers, and makes our state more unaffordable over the next two years. Remember: This budget is a 700+ page document that addresses a wide variety of issues, many of which do NOT reflect our desires […]

Advocating for Child and Senior Safety

Today, I proudly stood with members of the Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity, & Opportunity (CWCSEO) and colleagues on the Transportation Committee in support of HB 7159, also known as the Yellow Envelope Bill. This bill will help law enforcement safely communicate with persons who have intellectual and physical disabilities. Each yellow envelope provides […]
