“Our kids deserve healthy meals every day.”
Yesterday, the House unanimously passed HB 5003 which concerns funding the Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) within the fiscal guardrails, to address hunger and youth nutrition in Connecticut. With this legislation, I encourage all qualifying residents and families to enroll in the WIC program so that we can assure our children have access to necessary nutrition and parents are supported when navigating high prices at the grocery store.
A special thanks to State Representative Jaime Foster for her collaboration on this bill and I look forward to it finding support in the Senate and the Governor’s office.
