“ Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway.”—John Wayne.
Tonight, I was honored to attend and speak at the Firefighter I candidates graduation from the Valley Firefighters Regional Fire School. Firefighters know the risks, and yet every day, they prepare for the challenge, load up their gear, and race out to a call.
The Fire Fighter 1 Certification is issued to those who have completed the Fire Fighter 1 academic training and certification exams (psychomotor skills exams and cognitive exams).
These men and women must be mentally tough, not only for the complex scenarios and rippings from instructors, but also to be prepared to endure some of the awful things that firefighters are exposed to over the course of a career.
Congratulations to all. Stay safe!
