(HARTFORD) — On Monday, the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) released their 2023 Legislative Voting Records grading General Assembly members on their support for key bills that promote local business, economic development, and a positive post-pandemic recovery. In their records, State Representative Kathy Kennedy (R-119) received a perfect score, demonstrating her commitment to business owners and our workforce throughout Connecticut.

“I am honored to once again receive a 100% voting record from the CBIA,” said Kennedy on Monday. “My goal has always been to promote economic development and be a voice for small business owners and employees across our state. Right now, as residents navigate rising prices and the effects of inflation, it is critical to support local business in all ways to ensure a strong economy overall.”

The CBIA’s mission is to advocate at the state Capitol for policies that support job creation, foster economic growth, and help businesses compete. As the largest leading business organization, the CBIA also offers services and informational updates to owners and employees to help track legislation and submit public testimony throughout the legislative session.

Kennedy added, “I want to thank CBIA and congratulate all recognized legislators for their dedication to local business. During the 2023 Session, I voted in favor of bills that promoted workforce development, property tax abatements, reduced health care costs, and more transparent reporting requirements. Moving forward, I will continue to prioritize local business owners and their employees, encouraging all residents to reach out to me so I can be your voice in Hartford.”

Why I Voted “NO” on the State Budget

Last night, I stood against the State Budget proposal that overspends money we don’t have, raises taxes on businesses and consumers, and makes our state more unaffordable over the next two years. Remember: This budget is a 700+ page document that addresses a wide variety of issues, many of which do NOT reflect our desires […]

Today, I proudly stood with members of the Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity, & Opportunity (CWCSEO) and colleagues on the Transportation Committee in support of HB 7159, also known as the Yellow Envelope Bill. This bill will help law enforcement safely communicate with persons who have intellectual and physical disabilities. Each yellow envelope provides […]
