    (STORRS) — On Thursday, I joined state leaders in unveiling UCONN’s new Science 1 facility as a part of their Next Generation Connecticut initiative!

    This facility, on the Storrs campus, will serve as the new home of the Institute of Materials Science and will include 198,000 square feet dedicated to research, teaching, and core laboratories. Aside from its expanded educational resources, Science 1 was also designed to incorporate best practices in sustainability and energy efficiency, as part of UConn’s effort to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
    A special congratulations to UCONN, their president, Radenka Maric, and all of the contributors who made this possible! I look forward seeing how this will positively impact our CT higher education and state-wide environmental initiatives for years to come!
