Dear Friends and Neighbors,

This week, I joined my colleagues in unveiling our 2024 Legislative Priorities. Emphasizing Security & Service, our plan will maintain the state’s fiscal stability while making Connecticut a more affordable and safe place to live.

➡️ Why it matters: It is important to understand what issues we will be addressing as we approach the start of the legislative session on Wednesday, February 7th.

>> **Find our full plan HERE: securityandservicect.com** <<

During the 2017 Legislative Session, my colleagues and I successfully passed a bipartisan budget agreement establishing fiscal guardrails that have since allowed Connecticut to build our Rainy Day Fund and pay down long-term debt, while financially navigating the pandemic.

Recently, majority party leaders have called for a retreat from these guardrails despite their success in implementing smarter spending habits for our state.

Our plan for 2024 includes amending the State Constitution to protect these time-tested spending guardrails, while also proposing legislation that cracks down on crime, eases the cost of living, and establishes our state as a safe and affordable place to live.

Topics Include:

• Deterring Crime
• Reforming Juvenile Justice
• Securing Victim’s Rights
• Reducing the Sales Tax
• Standing with our Law Enforcement
• Stopping the Electric Vehicle Mandate
• Relieving Municipalities of “Right to Read” Agenda
• Making Our Government and Elections Transparent and Accountable
• Strengthening Workforce Pipeline
• Spurring Economic Growth
• Protecting Residents from Substance Abuse
• Blocking Elimination of School Resource Officers

📌 Don’t Forget: The 2024 Legislative Session will address a wide variety of topics that matter to YOU. As always, please never hesitate to reach out to me with your questions, ideas, and concerns so that I can continue making your voice heard in Hartford!

Why I Voted “NO” on the State Budget

Last night, I stood against the State Budget proposal that overspends money we don’t have, raises taxes on businesses and consumers, and makes our state more unaffordable over the next two years. Remember: This budget is a 700+ page document that addresses a wide variety of issues, many of which do NOT reflect our desires […]

Today, I proudly stood with members of the Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity, & Opportunity (CWCSEO) and colleagues on the Transportation Committee in support of HB 7159, also known as the Yellow Envelope Bill. This bill will help law enforcement safely communicate with persons who have intellectual and physical disabilities. Each yellow envelope provides […]
