Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Early Saturday morning I joined forces with the Boys & Girls Club of Milford’s TLC teen advocates to restore a portion of the living shoreline at the Coastal Center at Milford Point in Milford. With dozens of teen volunteers we planted over 1,100 indigenous plugs to bolster coastal resiliency and protect our precious ecosystems. Watching our youth take the lead in environmental stewardship was remarkable.
These young advocates of our environment recognize the need to address environmental issues such as coastal resiliency, flooding and erosion for a sustainable future. Our beautiful Milford coastline is the longest coastline in Connecticut.
