(MILFORD) — Recently, the Connecticut Department of Economic & Community Development’s (DECD) Office of the Arts announced a total of $1,050,000 in state arts grants for CT arts organizations and municipalities. In their announcement, a local Milford arts organization received roughly $7,000 in  grant funding to support town events and other relevant arts programs.

The following Milford-based art organization was awarded a grant from the Supporting Arts Grant Program:

  • Milford Fine Arts Council

On behalf of the state legislature, I want to personally congratulate the Milford Fine Arts Council for their award and thank them for their investment in our community through a diverse expression of the arts! I am excited to see the many benefits of these grants within Milford and throughout our state.

The Supporting Arts grant program provides general operating support to Connecticut arts organizations and municipal arts departments. This type of grant is flexible and gives the grantee the ability to use the funds where they are most needed. State and federal funds, from the National Endowment for the Arts, support this program.
