The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing night work for the installation of centerline rumble strips on Route 121 in Orange.
The project consists of the installation of centerline rumble strips for 0.62 mile on Route 121 in Orange. Rumble strips are a proven safety countermeasure and will minimize the number of lane departure crashes. The rumble strips will alert drivers through noise and vibration should their vehicle veer off into an opposing lane of traffic. This project is scheduled to occur on Thursday, September 3, 2020.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 121 from 150 feet south of Wepawaug Road to 550 feet south of Robert Treat Drive.
This work will be performed utilizing a moving operation with intermittent closures of lanes to complete the work. Please use caution around this operation as these vehicles will be moving slower than posted speeds and when possible move over to provide them a buffer lane during work activity. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
