State Rep. Greg Howard recognizes the Aluminum Eyas Youth Robotics Team

HARTFORD- On Wednesday, State Rep. Greg Howard had the distinct honor of recognizing an extraordinary group of young students, their dedicated coaches, and a proud parent and mentor, who together represent the very best of innovation, teamwork, and perseverance in our state.

The Aluminum Eyas is a youth robotics team made up of five incredibly talented students—Luke Daniel Korteweg, Flinn Patrick Paradiso, Nathan Edward Urbowicz, Devon Robert Gartner, and Thea Bee Gartner. Competing in the First Lego League, which serves younger students in the robotics world, this team soared through their season, winning both the Connecticut Qualifier in Old Lyme and the Connecticut State Championship in Glastonbury, beating out more than 100 teams statewide.

Their achievements have earned them the honor of representing Connecticut at the World Championships in Houston, Texas—competing among top teams from across the nation and around the world.

“These young innovators would not be here today without the steadfast support of their coaches—Brian Hall, Ann Marie Hall, and Connor Hall—whose leadership and mentorship have played a vital role in the team’s success, said Rep. Howard. “Please join me in congratulating this remarkable team and their supporters. We are proud to honor their accomplishments here in the Senate and to cheer them on as they represent Connecticut on the world stage.”
