Avon Public Library Welcomes Rep. Hill

Posted on March 5, 2019 by Greg MacKinnon

AVON – State Representative Leslee Hill (R-Canton) was invited by Avon Public Library’s Director, Glenn Grube, to tour the facility and to learn about the positive impact the library has on the community.

“I’d like to thank Glenn for inviting me to tour Avon’s beautiful and up-to-date library. The library is home to much more than books, featuring a computer learning center, teen room, and many children’s enrichment nooks. Clearly, there is a dedicated staff and an ongoing effort to keep the library a viable option for students to go after school and to continually provide so much to them in the afternoons,” explained Rep. Hill.

According to Mr. Grube, between 50 and 100 students will use the library daily, after school is done for the day. Students sign-in and out of the library and work with staff to complete homework, projects and other social activities.

Rep. Hill continued, “It’s clear that the library is the hub of the community here in Avon and it’s important that we continue to provide adequate resources so that current and future residents can benefit from it. I look forward to hosting an office hour at the library in the coming weeks.”
