Representative Makes Every Vote of the 2019 Regular Session

HARTFORD – In his first session as a state lawmaker, State Representative Rick Hayes (R-51) has achieved a perfect score for votes taken on the floor of the House of Representatives during the 2019 legislative session.

Each year, the House Clerk’s Office releases the data on members’ votes during the Regular Session and Representative Hayes was present for all 392 votes taken during that time. Achieving perfect attendance is quite difficult, with on average only 20 to 30 percent of legislators able to do so in a given year.

“I am proud that in my first year I was able to be present for one hundred percent of the votes taken on the floor of the house,” Rep. Hayes said. “I am fully committed to the people I represent and will continue to fight for more business friendly policies, less government intrusion, and smarter government spending.”

Rep. Hayes represents the towns of Killingly, Putnam and Thompson in the General Assembly and serves as a member of the legislature’s Environment, Children’s, and Public Safety Committees.

The next regular session will convene on Wednesday, February 5th.
