A strong advocate for reading and literacy education, this morning State Rep. Cindy Harrison logged onto Zoom for a virtual book reading to children at Roxbury’s Booth Free School. Rep. Harrison was at the school for Read Across America events earlier in the month when Principal Dr. Emily Rhew asked if she’d be willing to come back to read again.
Rep. Harrison jumped at the chance, but with the legislative session currently taking up most of her time had to appear online. She was able to speak with and read directly to the kids, holding up each page so the students could see the illustrations, too.
She read “I Want 100 Dogs” by Stacy McAnulty and illustrated by Claire Keane.
