HARTFORD – State Representative Stephen Harding (R-107) applauded the State Bond Commissions decision to approve a $350,000 grant-in-aid for the Regional YMCA of Western Connecticut for the purpose of constructing new facilities to replace the old lodge building at Camp Greenknoll in Brookfield.
“The Greenknoll YMCA in Brookfield continues to provide critical opportunities for so many in our local community,” Rep. Harding said. “The repair at the Camp Greenknoll Old Lodge building will help address important infrastructure needs for the YMCA’s incredible summer camp, which countless children look forward to ever year. I am proud to support this local investment by our state government.”
Per Connecticut General Statutes, municipal grants-in-aid can be used for construction, reconstruction, improvement or maintenance of highways, bridges, plowing of snow, the sanding of icy pavements, the trimming and removal of trees, the installation, replacement and maintenance of traffic signs, signals and markings, and for traffic control and vehicular safety programs, among other related items.
