HARTFORD – The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) has released their ‘2021 State House Voting Records’ annual report and State Representative Stephen Harding (R-107) was recently awarded a 100% score by the organization for his business-friendly votes.

“Now more than ever, it is critical that businesses throughout our state have the support of their government, and confidence in that Government’s ability to legislate policies that encourage their growth and expansion,” Rep. Harding said. “I remain focused in ensuring all businesses; big or small, both locally and statewide, are prosperous and successful. I will always be here to assist them in any issue they may face, particularly during these challenging times.”

Rep. Harding’s overall score was based on votes in committee or the House floor on a series of ‘key bills’ that would either positively or negatively impact Connecticut’s economic competitiveness and business climate.

Votes that support the business community’s position would reflect positively, while votes against will result in a lowered score. Some of the ‘key issues’ included the Truck tax, extending the manufacturing apprenticeship tax credit, issues with workers’ compensation, and incentivizing the adoption of cybersecurity standards to name a few.

Rep. Harding was one of only twenty-five state representatives who received a perfect score from the association.

CBIA is Connecticut’s leading business organization – with a membership comprised of hundreds of small, medium, and large-sized businesses around the state.
