I would like to take a moment to wish you and your family a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving. For me, this was always a weekend of family, food and fellowship. It is my hope that you will also be able to celebrate this uniquely American holiday with family and friends by your side/ and give thanks for all the gifts we have been blessed with this year.
Also, if you are planning to start shopping for holiday gifts this weekend, please try to stay local this season and support our small businesses. Saturday, November 30th is the tenth annual nationwide Small Business Saturday. This day is meant to bring attention to the important movement towards small businesses and to support entrepreneurs in our communities. We have a number of great shops and restaurants across Southwestern Connecticut that you can visit.
Click here for a list of small businesses in our community that are participating in Small Business Saturday. I hope you will consider including them as a stop on your search for the perfect gift this year!
You can also stop by the Danbury Holiday Gift Expo between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1st to support small businesses.
