BROOKFIELD – State Representative Stephen Harding (R-Brookfield) congratulates Brookfield High School as one of just 41 schools in Connecticut to receive a “2019 College Success Award.”
This award, which will be presented by GreatSchools, recognizes Brookfield High School’s successful track record of graduating students who later enroll in two or four-year colleges, are ready for college-level coursework, and/or proceed on to their second year of college.
“As a Brookfield High School graduate myself, I am very proud of my alma mater for this achievement!” said Rep. Harding. “I go back to Brookfield High every year to speak with students about how my career path lead me to a position representing me at the State Capitol, and how they can get involved in their local communities and government. I’m excited to see what my fellow Bobcats accomplish in the future!”
GreatSchools is a national nonprofit organization that provides information on educational opportunities to parents. Key strategies that they look for in a College Success Award winner school are offering a curriculum that includes access to advanced academics, reaching out to at-risk students, conducting college counseling, holding high expectations for all students, maintaining a close relationship with the local middle school(s) and creating postsecondary pathways for all students.
