Our residents have waited far too long for their elected officials to come together to address the rising cost of electricity in Connecticut. Today, House and Senate Republicans released a plan that we believe would bring about stability and provide much needed financial relief.

This six-point plan would:
⚡Remove Public Benefits Charges from electric bills – rather than have them paid through the state budget
⚡Redefine “Class I renewable energy source” to include any
electricity generated from a hydropower or nuclear power generating facility
⚡Eliminate any incentive program that increases electric demand, including, any electric vehicle rebate program
⚡ Study ways to increase the supply of natural gas
⚡Separate PURA from DEEP
⚡Prohibit agreements that buy electricity at 150 % above the wholesale price
