A bill I proposed this session to require solar farms comply with local planning and zoning laws will be included in a Planning & Development Committee public hearing scheduled for Friday.
The genesis of this bill stems from a development that occurred in Enfield when a solar farm was placed in a residential neighborhood, taking acres of farmland and woodlands, without approval from the town’s plan of conservation and development.
This bill would make future solar farms comply with local zoning and adhere to the town’s plan of conservation and development.
