Senate Dems’ Sales Tax Increase Proposal: Let Your Opinion Be Known

Dear Neighbors,
As you may have heard, the Senate Democrat leader is once again proposing a sales tax increase for Connecticut. His bill would increase the Connecticut sales tax rate to 6.85%, raising potentially millions upon millions of dollars in new taxes on Connecticut families.
I would like to hear your opinion on this proposed tax increase. This legislation will be heard by the committee on Wednesday, February 13th, at the State Capitol.
Expressing your opinion can be as simple as sending an email as public testimony on the proposal. Below are the instructions on how to send in brief testimony:
- Send a brief email to: FINtestimony@cga.ct.gov
- Put “Senate Bill 475” in the subject line
- Copy me at: Carol.Hall@housegop.ct.gov
- Include your name and town
If you can, you may also attend the public hearing on Senate Bill 475 on Wednesday, Feb. 13th at 11 a.m. in Room 2E of the Legislative Office Building to testify in person as well.
