This morning, I had the pleasure to reading to first grade students in Mrs. Lelas’ class at Hazardville Memorial Elementary School as part of Read Across America Day.
The book I chose to read this morning was ‘The Sour Grape’ by Jory John. The story follows a grape that holds grudges against anyone and everyone, until one day when a friend returns the favor. This causes the grape to reflect on his own behavior and ultimately change his ways.
I want to thank the school and administration for allowing me to read to these students, it continues to be one of my favorite community events.
