Rep. Hall Earns 100% Score from the State’s Leading Business Association

HARTFORD – Using key pieces of business-related legislation to rank state lawmakers during the 2019 legislative session, the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) recently highlighted State Representative Carol Hall’s (R-59) perfect 100% score.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by the CBIA,” Rep. Hall said. “I have consistently supported initiatives to improve workforce training and improving access to high-paying, high-skilled jobs. Enfield and East Windsor manufacturers have benefitted from strong relationships with Asnuntuck Community College.”
Each year, the Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) ranks state lawmakers based on their support for the business community’s positions. This session, six important bills made it to the House for a vote, including SB 854 to increase vocational training and SB1030 reforming the state’s transfer act and streamlining environmental remediation projects. She opposed some measures, including the state budget which raises taxes on small businesses and a variety of goods from safety apparel to restaurant meals, plastic bags, rideshare services and much more.
“We need to do a better job of making Connecticut open for business,” noted Rep. Hall. “As a community that borders Massachusetts, our local employers are especially sensitive to burdensome regulations and legislation that makes us less competitive.”
All of the scored bills impact job creation, small business growth and economic stability in Connecticut.
