ENFIELD – State Representative Carol Hall (R-59) celebrated Read Across America Day by reading the “Cat in the Hat” by Dr. Seuss to Ms. Hood’s second grade class at Henry Barnard School in Enfield. The annual tradition promotes early childhood literacy and commemorates Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
“I had a great time! It was a pleasure to reading to Ms. Hood’s students. Read Across America is a very special day and helps reinforce the importance and fun of reading and literacy,” said Rep. Hall.
According to its website, The National Education Association seeks to build a nation of readers through its signature program, NEA’s Read Across America. For more information about this great event please visit www.nea.org/readacross.
