Enfield Reps. Host Workshop to Help Residents Lower Electric Bills

ENFIELD – State Representatives Carol Hall (R-59) and Greg Stokes (R-58) were recently joined by representatives from Connecticut’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) at the Enfield Senior Center for an informative workshop to teach residents how to lower their electric bill.
Rate specialists from PURA promoted an initiative that helps individuals save energy with rebates, financing and services for energy efficiency and clean energy improvements and were on hand to guide residents through the cost-saving process.

Reps. Carol Hall and Greg Stokes speak before a crowd at the Enfield Senior Center for a PURA Workshop.
“It was wonderful meeting with our friends at the senior center and being able to share this initiative with them. I was thrilled to host a workshop geared towards teaching residents how they can save money on their electric bills, as well as ways to save money with an energy audit,” said Rep. Hall. “These audits can save families hundreds of dollars a year and can even be free to those with a limited income.”
Residents were encouraged to bring a recent copy of their home electric bill so that the rate specialists could show them exactly how much their bill can be lowered.
“This initiative is extremely important for two reasons,” continued Rep. Stokes. “First, residents are able to save money off their electric bill and put it towards more important avenues. Second, as PURA promotes energy efficient improvements, Connecticut is stepping closer and closer towards energy independence, ultimately lowering the cost of electricity for all residents.”
