Irene Haines Sworn in as State Representative

HARTFORD – State Representative Irene Haines (R-34) was sworn in as State Representative for the 34th District, which includes the towns of East Haddam, East Hampton and part of Colchester on Wednesday, January 9th.

Representative Haines, first elected in November 2018, will serve a 2 year term in the House of Representatives. She was appointed to the Education Committee, Planning & Development Committee and the Transportation Committee.

“Connecticut faces numerous challenges when it comes to our business climate, budget and infrastructure. I am ready work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and address these issues head on,” said Rep. Haines. “In the coming months, I will make sure that the residents of the 34th district continue to have a strong voice at the Capitol.”

The 2019 regular legislative session will run from January 9th until June 5th. During this time the General Assembly will propose and enact new laws and set the biennial state budget.
