Irene Haines Sworn in as State Representative

HARTFORD – State Representative Irene Haines (R-34) was sworn in as State Representative for the 34^th District, which includes the towns of East Haddam, East Hampton and part of Colchester on Wednesday, January 9^th.

Representative Haines, first elected in November 2018, will serve a 2 year term in the House of Representatives. She was appointed to the Education Committee, Planning & Development Committee and the Transportation Committee.

“Connecticut faces numerous challenges when it comes to our business climate, budget and infrastructure. I am ready work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle and address these issues head on,” said Rep. Haines. “In the coming months, I will make sure that the residents of the 34^th district continue to have a strong voice at the Capitol.”

The 2019 regular legislative session will run from January 9^th until June 5^th. During this time the General Assembly will propose and enact new laws and set the biennial state budget.
