Saturday, October 23 is the DEA’s National Drug Take Back Day, a day where you can anonymously dispose of any unwanted or expired prescription drugs or medications. Properly disposing of medications is important in order to prevent theft and misuse, and also to protect the environment. Medications that end up in the water supply, sewage system or landfills can be harmful to animals, plants and even people.
Drop-off opportunities on this day are available locally in East Haddam and East Hampton, and the East Hampton and Colchester Police maintain year-round drop-boxes as well.
