Connecticut is overtaxing its residents, following the 2022 legislative session budget adjustments, Connecticut is projected to close its fiscal year with a $956.4 million surplus. Factoring in the state’s revenue cap, this leaves $746.2 million in surplus funds available immediately to provide further tax relief. We can provide tax relief while still contributing a historic $2.85 billion in additional funds to pay down pension debt and preserving a record breaking $3.3 billion in the state budget reserve fund – the maximum amount allowed.

Our proposed relief plan includes:

  • Reducing the income tax
  • Expanding current gas tax holiday to diesel
  • Suspending impending diesel fuel tax increase
  • Eliminating the highway truck tax
  • Reducing the state’s sales tax
  • Eliminating the tax on meals
  • Increasing heating and cooling assistance
