Rep. Haines Meets with Constituents at Two Brothers Cafe Ahead of Opening Day
Posted on January 7, 2025
East Hampton—State Representative Irene Haines (R-34) held a coffee shop hour at Two Brothers Cafe, where constituents voiced their concerns over a variety of issues, such as police accountability, DOT road maintenance, action against street takeovers, electric rates, and housing. Rep. Haines listened to the concerns of her constituents and went over the process of how to track a bill.
“As we are set to begin the 2025 legislative session, it was important for me to discuss legislative concerns that my neighbors identified during today’s coffee hour. The public participation in these events allows me to be a more effective voice for our district as we dive into new law proposals,” said Haines. “I look forward to participating in the committee process and floor debates, which will shape public policy to address the issues that were brought to my attention. Residents and businesses alike deserve a more affordable and safer community.”
The 2025 session is slated to begin tomorrow, January 8th, commencing a five-month long law-making period. Haines encourages those in her district to continually reach out to her as the session progresses.
