Early voting was approved by Connecticut voters in 2022. During the 2023 legislative session, the General Assembly authorized in-person early voting for elections held after April 1, 2024. Under this schedule, the first election utilizing early voting will be the Presidential Preference Primary on April 2, 2024.

Rep. Foncello Raises Concerns about Proposed Reduction in Crisis Response Drills in Schools

Hartford, Conn.State Representative Martin Foncello (R-107) raised questions during the March 11 meeting of the Education Committee. The Committee held a public hearing on several bills, including HB 5416, An Act Concerning Various Revisions to the Education Statutes. This proposal would, among other things, amend the way crisis response drills are conducted in schools and require the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection to study the efficacy of crisis response drills.
