Rep. Floren joined the School Security Working Group for a press conference on Wednesday, February 27 to discuss methods to better protect our children and create a safer learning environment. The three prongs of school safety and security are: educational, emotional, and hardening of the physical plant. Last year, the legislature bonded and allocated $10 million in competitive grants and have $5 million remaining authorized, but unallocated. As Ranking Member of the Bonding Subcommittee, Rep. Floren will be advocating for an additional $10 million for the School Safety Grant.
