Statement from State Representative Craig Fishbein (R-90), Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee, Re: Governor’s Nominee for Supreme Court

“During the Judiciary Committee nomination hearing for Attorney Sandra Slack Glover concerns were raised by members from both sides of the aisle regarding her qualifications and the process under which she was ultimately nominated to serve as a jurist at the highest level of state court,” Rep. Craig Fishbein, Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee said.  “Unfortunately, those ongoing concerns created a difficult barrier to confirmation. I appreciate Attorney Slack Glover recognizing that and withdrawing her name from consideration. Despite her experience as a federal prosecutor, she possessed no acumen for state court, state law or procedure. No candidate for such an important and influential position as Supreme Court Justice should ever receive a rubber stamp no matter how politicized the process has become.”
