State Rep. Craig Fishbein proudly joined his House Republican colleagues and state and national advocates to fight for the rights of young women during a Save Girls Sports CT rally at the Capitol.
Girls deserve access to every opportunity possible, including in sports, and it is important to protect them from having to compete athletically with biological men.
Rep. Fishbein said it was very powerful to hear Payton McNabb, who at 17-years-old suffered a traumatic brain injury when struck by a ball hit by a biological man competing in a girls volleyball match, describe the events of that day and her struggles since. Kim Jones, co-founder of The Independent Council on Women’s Sport and parent of a college athlete affected by a trans competitor, also spoke.
Girls demand the opportunity and equality they deserve, and Rep. Fishbein will continue to fight for their rights.
