In honor of Emergency Medical Services Week, State Representative Craig Fishbein (R-90) invited Wallingford school students from the 90th district to show their support for firefighters and EMS professionals with handmade cards and letters of appreciation.

Rep. Fishbein, who serves as a member of the legislature’s Public Safety & Security Committee, organized the project to honor and thank the brave men and women of our fire department and the emergency medical technicians and paramedics who keep our town and citizens safe.

Emergency Medical Services Week takes place annually, this year it runs from May 18-24th.

Rep. Fishbein collected cards from elementary school students from Highland and Moses Y. Beach school and delivered them to Central Fire Headquarters on Friday. The theme for EMS Week 2025 is “We Care For Everyone” to emphasize the dedication and compassion of these brave first responders who provide care to individuals in all situations.

“Wallingford is very fortunate to have a well-staffed and well-trained fire department, both career and volunteer, who also provide first responder, emergency medical, and ambulance services that keep our residents safe around the clock,” Rep. Fishbein said. “Regardless of the call, they jump into action and put their lives on the line to help. Knowing they are there provides us with peace of mind, and hopefully these cards will give them a smile and let them know they are very appreciated.”
