Recently, Governor Lamont launched a “Reopen Connecticut Advisory Group” to guide the reopening our state.
Unfortunately though, as with his Executive Orders, the group’s membership was selected by the Governor with no input from the legislature (a co-equal branch of government), and no member of the legislature was appointed to the group. Further, he has decreed that this important group will not be subject to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act.
I want to be prepared should the Governor reverse his decision, and decide to seek input and cooperation from the legislature about re-opening our state. After all, you are the members of the businesses and families that make up the district, and are those most directly impacted by this pandemic and the Governor’s Executive Orders.
I am the ear, you are the voice, let me know how you feel so that if the governor asks I can share.
