Start of Work for Pavement Preservation Project on Interstate 95 in West Haven and Orange

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start-up of Project 156-180 in West Haven and Orange on Interstate 95 for the 2020 Construction Season. Traffic lane closures in will begin on Sunday, April 5, 2020.
The project includes pavement preservation of Interstate 95 in West Haven and Orange. The highway will be milled and repaved in order to extend its service life. Seven project bridges will be resurfaced and have new asphalt expansion joints installed. Upgrades to four intersections at the exit ramps are included at First Avenue, Campbell Avenue, and two on Saw Mill Road.
DOT Project No. 156-180 was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut, Inc. at a cost of $7,295,388.45 on May 1, 2019 and is scheduled to be completed by July 6, 2020.
