HARTFORD — State Representative Doug Dubitsky (R-47) was sworn in today as state representative for the 47th General Assembly District covering his hometown of Chaplin as well as Canterbury, Franklin, Hampton, Lebanon, Lisbon, Norwich, Scotland, and Sprague.
Dubitsky was among 19 other Republican freshmen who vowed to serve their districts over a two-year term. Dubitsky states he is committed to reducing the expense of government which he is constantly confronted with as a member of the Chaplin Board of Finance.
“The impending budgetary crises we face will not be resolved unless we do what we can to curb government spending,” Rep. Dubitsky said.
For the 2015-2017 legislative session, House Republican Leader Themis Klarides appointed Dubitsky to serve on the Environment Committee, Judiciary Committee, and Planning and Development Committee.
Rep. Dubitsky took the oath of office and was sworn in by Secretary of State Denise Merrill on Wednesday afternoon in the State House Chamber. He then participated in a Joint Convention of both the House of Representatives and Senate as Gov. Dannel Malloy addressed lawmakers about the 2015 Session.
