FRANKLIN – On Tuesday, January 20 State Representative Doug Dubitsky (R-47) toured the Kofkoff Egg Farm, owned by Moark LLC. With facilities in Bozrah, Colchester, Franklin and Lebanon, Kofkoff is the largest egg producer in New England and the largest supplier of eggs to food stores in Connecticut. The Franklin facility alone is capable of cleaning and packaging over 100,000 eggs per hour.
The tour, led by Moark Director of Operations Ken Pauzé, included several of the facility’s chicken coops, the egg room, the five-acre solar panel array, and other parts of the extensive operation. In touring the facility, Dubitsky sought to gather information and become better informed about science-based egg farming techniques. The Moark operation employs about 300 people and was started in 1948.
