HARTFORD – Rep. Doug Dubitsky (R-47) spoke today at a veterans rally organized by Purple Heart recipient and veterans advocate Micah Welintukonis. The rally was held to express opposition to the Governor’s proposed budget, which includes cuts to veterans’ funeral services. The $469,533 cut could eliminate traditions such as the playing of Taps and a salute volley fired by a rifle team.
Veterans from all over the state joined the bipartisan group of legislators that pledged not to support this proposal. Please click on the photograph below to view Rep. Dubitsky’s speech.
