Rep. Dubitsky Celebrates Local Eagle Scout

CANTERBURY – State Representative Doug Dubitsky (R-Chaplin) honored newly charged Eagle Scout Noah A. Carr of Sprague at his Court of Honor on Saturday, August 22. He presented the young man with an official citation from the Connecticut General Assembly recognizing his achievements.
A member of Troop 19, Noah planned and supervised the building of a child’s play area at the Calvary Chapel in Canterbury for his Eagle Project. He was responsible for selecting the design of the new playscape, raising enough money to complete the project, excavating the land and assembling and painting his chosen design.
“It is truly an honor to be here and congratulate this fine young man on his achievement,” Rep. Dubitsky said. “This entire community can be proud of his hard work, dedication to excellence and local service.”
In addition to the numerous requirements of the Boy Scouts of America, candidates for the rank of Eagle Scout must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, complete numerous hours of community service, and hold a position of leadership within their Boy Scout troop or high school sports team. Noah has achieved Merit Badges in Citizenship in the Community, Camping, Communications, Weather, Carpentry, Life Saving, Personal Fitness, Astronomy, Climbing, and more.
