Rep. Doug Dubitsky Celebrates The Nutmeg Companies Inc. New Facility

NORWICH – State Representative Doug Dubitsky (R-Chaplin) was honored to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Nutmeg Companies’ new facility in Norwich on June 19, 2015. He toured of newly renovated the building with company founders Lisa & Evert Gawendo and Diana & Jason Bugbee. Later, he addressed the crowd during the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Nutmeg Companies, Inc. is a general and mechanical contractor firm that has completed projects from Maine to Georgia. They specialize in education facilities, nuclear plants, hospitals and more. Nutmeg Companies has been headquartered in Norwich since 1988, and has become a vital part of the Norwich business community.
After fighting Yantic River floods at its old headquarters for years, the company decided it needed to find a new home. Since its business is regional, the Gawendos and Bugbees could have relocated their company and employees almost anywhere in the Northeast. But as a testament to the City of Norwich and its people, this thriving company chose a wonderful location in the Norwich Business Park.
“I know that you could have selected anywhere in the region for your new location,” Rep. Dubitsky said, “and this city is grateful that you have chosen to continue doing business here. It shows a great love and confidence in the City of Norwich, and we are honored to have you.”
The new facility is located in the Norwich Business Park. More information about Nutmeg Companies, Inc. can be found on their website: http://nutmegcompanies.com.
