LEBANON – State Representative Doug Dubitsky (R-47) applauded the State Bond Commission’s approval of a $1,000,000 grant-in-aid to Lebanon’s John Trumbull Library.
The grant will be used to help renovate the library to comply with the American Disability Act (ADA). Currently, there are no restrooms or running water on the first floor, and no ADA-compliant stairs or elevator.
The library, built in 1967 and renovated in 1972, was originally built to circulate 10,000 books annually. Currently, the library circulates 80,000 per year and attracts far more visitors than it was originally built to accommodate.
“I look forward to the library’s much needed upgrades,” Rep. Dubitsky said. “This funding will help make the building more convenient and accessible for everyone. I applaud the efforts of everyone involved in this valuable project.”
